Hotel Đuro Salaj is a former workers’ resort on the Makarska Riviera. In particular, miners from the mines in Đurđevik, Banovići, Kreka, Breza and Miljevina could spend their holidays here.
After the Yugoslav War of Independence, the resort became a shelter for war refugees. I visited the hotel in 2021 and found a completely destroyed hotel. There wasn’t much to see, so I quickly went to the top floor, where I had a fantastic view of the village of Gradac and the Adriatic Sea.
