One of the greatest urbex locations I’ve been and for me one of the hottest explorations ever: the temperature was 38 degrees and I was melting like aluminium!
Lozovac Aluminium Plant was once a thriving industrial hub located near the Krka waterfalls. The factory was established in the early 1930s and operated for over six decades, providing employment opportunities for hundreds of men in the region. However, due to economic challenges and changes in the global aluminium market, the factory was eventually shut down in the late 1990s, leaving behind an abandoned industrial complex that has been slowly decaying over the years.
The abandoned factory stands as a haunting reminder of the industrialization in the area. The buildings are now dilapidated, and nature is slowly reclaiming the land. The factory has become a popular destination for urban explorers and photographers who come to capture the eerie beauty of the abandoned site.
The environmental impact of the factory’s closure has also been significant. The site is contaminated with heavy metals and other hazardous waste materials, posing a risk to the health of local residents and the ecosystem. Efforts have been made in recent years to clean up the site, but the process is slow and costly.
