The history of this farm, located on a provincial road in a remote area, cannot be traced.
I discovered this abandoned farmhouse, hidden in the middle of nowhere, while searching at Maps. The first time here I couldn’t get in, but now everything was open, so entering was no problem.
This abandoned farm, in the middle of the Frisian meadows, was bought by a monastic community after the farmer’s death. There has to be a lot of restoration and sadly enough, there’s no investor up to now.
This abandoned monumental farm, built around 1850, is situated in the middle of Frisian meadows. We are not only here in an abandoned and derelict monumental farm, but the area around this farm is also historically and archaeologically of special significance.

On our way to our destination for that weekend, the beautiful city of Arnhem, we happened to find this abandoned farm. It is hidden between shrubs, trees and weeds, and that is probably the reason why there has been little vandalism.
I think this farmer was a collector of refrigerators. It’s also possible that the story behind this one is completely different. We’ll never know I guess.
